The Laboratory
This page contains information related to the equipment we have in the laboratory.
The optical tweezers currently incorporates several pieces of equipment including:
- Microscope housing.
- A 4W IR laser, l=1064nm.
- Servomotor controlled microscope stage, with resolution of 0.1mm.
- Piezo controlled translators with resolution of 1nm.
- Laser Power Stabiliser.
- Quadrant Photodiode + amplifing circuitry (to measure position of particles).
- An Arbitrary waveform Generator.
- A PCI-DAQ to digitally acquire voltage readings from various components in the system.
- A CCD camera to allow real-time viewing of imagary.
- LabView to control the various pieces of equipment.
- Other standard chemistry laboratory facilities.
