2006 Birch Lecture

"Light and Energy,

Mimicking Natural Photosynthesis"

will be presented by

Professor Michael Graetzel,

Ecole Polytechnique de Lausanne, Switzerland

on

Monday 7th August @ 5.00pm

in the Manning Clark Centre, Lecture Theatre 2

Professor Graetzel pioneered research on energy and electron transfer reactions in mesoscopic-materials and their optoelectronic applications. He discovered a new type of solar cell based on dye sensitized mesoscopic oxide particles and pioneered the use of nanomaterials in lithium ion batteries.

Professor Graetzel will be presenting two additional lectures during his visit
