We are a mixed side (men and women) of dancers who enjoy dancing traditional and contemporary English Morris dances. The dances we perform originate mainly from the Welsh Border counties of Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Shropshire with a few Cotswold dances thrown in for good measure and an occasional Mummers Play. For non Morris experts our version of what it's all about and the history of Morris can found here. We have taken sufficient artistic licence with our interpretations of traditional material and our own choreography to give our side its own unique and lively brand of this dance form. This has been dubbed the 'larrikin' element by some observers (larrikin is an Australian term of endearment for a lovable rascal, or jovial rogue!)
We are based in Canberra the capital city of Australia and we had our first practice on 3rd September 1992. We are still going strong. We always welcome new dancers and musicians and are delighted to meet visiting sides or individuals. We are members of the Australian Morris Ring .
