Vim

Case-Insensitive Searches

By default, vim performs all searching in a case-sensitive manner. To set all your searches to be case insensitive, use the following:

:set ic

A single search can be made case-insensitive by using '\c' in the search string:

/\csearch

will find both 'Search' and 'search' etc. The most useful default is the following:

:set ic
:set scs

This performs a case-insensitive search if the search string is all lowercase, and a case-sensitive search if any of the letters are capitalized.
