Programme

The Congress will begin in the early afternoon of Sunday September 14 with two Plenary Lectures, a Welcome Reception and the first Poster Session. From September 15-18 there will be a mix of Plenary Lectures, Invited Lectures, Oral Communications and Poster Sessions. One of the highlights will be a Software Developers Symposium featuring senior scientists representing leading developers of computational chemistry software. There will also be a Congress Excursion and Congress Banquet, as well as a variety of tour options for Accompanying Persons and other interested participants. Finally the Congress will conclude with four Plenary Lectures on the morning of Friday September 19.

Themes include:

  1. THEORETICAL/PHYSICAL: Methodological advances, coupled cluster, DFT, DFTB, CPMD, dynamics, theoretical thermochemistry, spectroscopy, photochemistry, presentations by software developers;
  2. STRUCTURES/REACTIONS/ORGANIC/INORGANIC: Structures, conformations, reactions, radicals, ion chemistry, organometallics, dynamics, catalysis, clusters;
  3. CONDENSED PHASE/MATERALS: Nanoparticles, surfaces, materials, multiscale modeling, industrial, heavy metals, polymers, relativistic effects, condensed phase, electrochemistry, large molecules, presentations by software developers;
  4. BIOLOGICAL: Enzyme catalysis, proteins/peptides, nucleotides, radicals in biology, drug design, bioinformatics, QSAR, presentations by software developers.
