Accommodation

Following is some information for a variety of Sydney hotels, to suit a range of budgets.

Rates are given in Australian dollars, include GST and are quoted on a per room per night basis. They do not include breakfast except where indicated.

Budget hotels are shown in green. These do not accept block bookings, so interested participants must book directly with them.

Participants may wish to share hotel rooms. It is best if this is arranged directly between the participants but, if assistance is required to organise such sharing, this can be indicated on the registration/accommodation form.

• Novotel Sydney Darling Harbour 5 min walk, from $259

  Located one block from Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre and with an undercover walkway connecting the hotel and Convention Centre, the Novotel is perfectly situated for conference delegates. The hotel has many facilities, including a restaurant, bar, and health club. Non-smoking rooms are available.

  Internet access: Levels 8-10 are wireless and change $0.50 per minute. All other levels provide broadband, at $27.50 for 24 hours. Guests can use the wireless broadband in the foyer area.

• Oaks Goldsbrough Apartments 5 min walk, from $171

  This hotel, on Darling Harbour, has a heated 25-metre heated swimming pool and an undercover walkway to the Sydney Convention Centre. Every rooms offers air conditioning, a direct dial telephone, laundry services, and full kitchen facilities, with a microwave and dishwasher. Studio Apartments offer one king bed or two single beds, to be specified when placing a reservation. One-bedroom apartments contain one queen bed. Two-bedroom apartments have two bedrooms, one with a queen bed, and the other with two single beds. (Two double beds can be requested instead, but are not guaranteed due to limited availability.) A sofa bed may be requested while booking a one- or two-bedroom apartment, to go in the separate lounge room. This provides bedding for two extra adults, and costs $30 per person per night. Cots and highchairs are available at $20 per night; cot hire must be arranged prior to arrival. Rates are $10 cheaper per night when staying at least seven nights.

• Hotel Ibis Darling Harbour [Sold Out] 5 min walk, from $175

  Located one block from Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre, the Hotel Ibis is well situated for conference delegates. It is known for its quality, simplicity and value for money, though rooms are small.

  Five star complex with a casino, that is located a short walk north west of the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre. The hotel has many facilities, including restaurants, bars, and a health club/spa. Non-smoking rooms and floors available.

  The hotel is located a short walk east of the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre, between the central business district and Darling Harbour. Rooms are spacious and modern. Stay on the Executive Club Floor and enjoy a deluxe continental breakfast and evening drinks and canapes served in the Club Lounge.
